As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. (Proverbs 27:3)
What is going on in that head of yours? Your friend might ask if they see you deep in thought. Oh’ nothing, just thinking!! You might say. Your friend will be all the more curious to know what you’re really thinking about, especially if your countenance is sad or happy. Your curious friend continues to probe more and more until you have no choice except to finally talk.
If we take a good look around us and evaluate what we see, whether we like what we see or not, it’s all based on how we think and perceive life. If we’re always sad and feeling down in the dumps about ourselves, it’s because of our thoughts. If we’re always angry and frustrated, it’s because of our thoughts and if we’re happy and at peace it’s because of our thoughts. Although we don’t realize it, what we choose to entertain in our minds actually becomes our reality. We’ll start thinking it, speaking it, living it and breathing it. Just as its affecting us, it’s also affecting the people around us and having a major impact. Let’s hope it’s a good impact.
Challenge yourself for the next 21 days to change your mind set/thought life. Start paying more attention to what you think about and what you say out of your mouth. Be intentional about getting rid of stinking thinking. You will thank yourself that you did. The word of God gives us instruction on how we can take control of our thoughts and be victorious in certain areas where we struggle.
One of the many scriptures that I like to quote, but also find helpful to meditate on, is Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. The writer was encouraging his friends to think things that are worthwhile, and most of all positive. In this life we’ll be faced with difficulties and disappointments, it’s out of our control. We can do our best to keep things going according to what we have planned, but life doesn’t work that way. Different situations affect people in different ways and we all need ways to cope with life stressors.
Therefore, instead of dwelling on things we cannot change let’s think on those whatsoever things. If you struggle with depression, low self-esteem, negative self-talk, insecurity, lack of confidence, loneliness or not knowing who you truly are, please give Jesus a chance to heal you. Jesus came and died and He rose again to give you a new and abundant life in Him. He came to share the good news of the gospel with us. He came to heal our broken hearts. He came to release the captives. He came to open our blinded eyes and to set them free that are bruised.
Lets pray,
Father in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your help. Thank you that you from This day forward that i will work on my thoughts because everything about life flows from there. Help me to renew my mind daily with your words and also to guard my heart. Thank you Jesus. Amen🙏🏾
